If I’m honest, I’ve never liked cotton washcloths, especially if I don’t use a fresh one every day. Washcloths never made my skin feel really clean. Not clean to the point of being stripped of moisture but my skin never felt buffed of dead skin. Plush towels feel great but are subpar when it comes to exfoliation. Using a body scrub is too harsh for daily use and the lack of packaging makes most bath sponges unsanitary. Although soap contains cleansing agents and surfactants that remove dirt, sweat, and other buildup, mechanical or physical exfoliants definitely help my skin look and feel polished.
Last month while watching NaturalNeiicey’s My Body Care Routine | How To Get Rid Of Body Acne Scars video, I was introduced to the African exfoliating net. Once I saw the nylon cloth extend across her back I was sold. I needed one but I wasn’t curious enough to buy it online. While perusing the beauty section of my local HEB the next day, I saw the Cleanlogic Exfoliating Stretch Bath and Shower Cloth.
The looped, nylon fibers remove dead skin, leaving your body soft to the touch. It is treated with antimicrobial product to help it remain clean and odor free for up to 30 days. This textured washcloth stretches up to 3x the size of a regular washcloth and dries within hours. It stretches so well that I have to fold it before extending it across my back. I simply wet the cloth, apply my Nubian Heritage African Black Soap Body Wash, continue with my routine, and hang it to dry. My first impression was that it felt abrasive on my chest but after that it was fine. What I like most about this exfoliating washcloth is that my shoulders and back felt extremely clean.
I experience body acne on a monthly basis due to sweating. If I’m not perspiring outdoors in hot and humid Texas, I’m drenched during my workouts. Back acne creates some of the most stubborn and painful pimples. They take forever to compress and the hyperpigmentation takes even longer to fade! I knew that I needed a strong exfoliant for my back and shoulders but avoided body scrubs chock-full of oils, because my skin breaks outs from product residue. Since using this nylon washcloth, my shoulders and back have experienced less breakouts and my acne marks take less time to fade.
You should definitely try one of these nylon washcloths if you battle with body acne or don’t care for body scrubs. Mine was priced at $5 but I’m sure you can purchase one at a lower price.
